THE STORY

It is the absolute symbol of Greek History. Meander or Meandros is a decorative border constructed from continuous lines shaped in to a repeated motif.

It has taken its name from the ancient Greek Meander river which flowed from the highlands of southern Phyrgia into the Aegean Sea near Miletus and was noted for its exceptionally winding and twisting path. The design appears frequently on Greek pottery, especially during the Geometric period, but it is also found in house and temple decorations, made out of stones or just painted. It symbolizes unity and infinity.
