THE STORY

Ships were an important part of the culture of the cities located by the sea. That was the case for many of the city - states in Ancient Greece.

But how could they secure their boats and ships? At first they used baskets full of stones, large sacks filled with sand and wooden logs filled with lead. Eventually, shipbuilding became a highly valued profession in Ancient Greece and so the first modern Anchor didn't take long to appear.

Common belief has it that Eupalamus invented the anchor, however, it has not been documented. The truth is that for millions of years the Anchor has a special place in the culture of seaside communities and has been a special symbol for sailors, traders and even Christianity (the Anchor symbolized the connection with God).
